Itinerary

Day 1 From Milan to Padua

Arrival of the group in Milano Malpensa APT and meeting with the Tour leader. Free time for lunch. In the afternoon, Milan’s city tour. Milan is the Italy’s financial powerhouse and the home of Italy’s stock exchange, as well as the capital of high fashion and design. Milan is also full of historic and artistic attractions. Among the most famous are its Duomo, which is the largest Gothic cathedral in the world and Leonardo da Vinci’s iconic The Last Supper painting. Later on, transfer by private coach to Padua area. Dinner and overnight at the booked hotel.

Day 2Padua and Saint Anthony's Basilica

After breakfast, guided tour of Padua. Padua’s most iconic attraction is the Scrovegni Chapel (Cappella degli Scrovegni), with its wonderful frescoes by Giotto. The Basilica of St. Anthony of Padua (known simply as Il Santo) is also another gem of the city as well as one of the world’s most important art treasures. Recognized by the Holy See as an international Shrine, it is also one of Christendom’s most celebrated and popular churches. Free time for lunch and individual activities in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the booked hotel.

Day 3Bologna and Assisi

After breakfast, transfer to Assisi. Stop on the way for a guided visit of Bologna. Bologna is the largest city of the Emilia-Romagna Region in Northern Italy. Also called “The Learned” for its old University, and “The Fat” for its delicious food tradition, Bologna is also a “UNESCO creative City of Music” and has one of the largest and most well-preserved medieval historical centres, full of restaurants, taverns, theatres and shops. Free time for lunch. Continuation to Assisi with the check-in at the booked hotel. Dinner and overnight in Assisi area.

Day 4Assisi and Loreto

Today, you will enjoy a guided tour of the beautiful medieval town Assisi, which will include the Basilica of Saint Francis, decorated with some of the most renowed frescoes in the world. The story of the sacrifical life of Saint Francis (San Francesco), Italy’s holy patron, will be an encouragement to us all. Free time for lunch, followed by the visit of Santuario di Loreto in the afternoon. Loreto is a hill town of the Italian province of Ancona, in the Marche Region. It is mostly known as the home of the Basilica della Santa Casa, a popular Catholic pilgrimage destination. Dinner and overnight in Assisi area.

Day 5Santuario San Gabriele and Manoppello

Check-out from the hotel and transfer to the visit of Santuario San Gabriele. The Sanctuary of St. Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrow (Italian: Santuario di San Gabriele dell’Addolorata) is located at the foot of the Gran Sasso, in Abruzzo Region. The Sanctuary is one of the vertexes of a sacred triangle including Loreto and San Giovanni Rotondo. An itinerary that has religion and faith as its main theme. Free time for lunch. In the afternoon, visit of Manoppello. Inside the Shrine of Manoppello is enclosed, in a case, what is recognized as the true Face of Jesus Christ. A legend tells that in 1506 a pilgrim presented himself to the physicist Giacomo Antonio Leonelli and gave him the precious gift. Dinner and overnight in Chieti area at the booked hotel.

Day 6San Giovanni Rotondo and Pietralcina

On the East coast of Italy lies one of the most popular pilgrimage destinations in Italy. The Padre Pio Shrine in San Giovanni Rotondo, Southern Italy, is a popular Catholic pilgrimage shrine. About seven million pilgrims a year flock to Santa Maria delle Grazie Church (dedicated in 1676) to pay homage to Padre Pio, a well-known Italian saint who died there. Free time for lunch. In the afternoon, visit of the Sanctuary of Saint Pio of Pietrelcina(sometimes referred as Padre Pio Pilgrimage Church). The Sanctuary is a Catholic shrine in San Giovanni Rotondo, Italy, owned by the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin of the Province of Foggia. Check-in at the booked hotel, with dinner and overnight in Beneventano area.

Day 7Madonna di Pompei and Rome

After breakfast, transfer to Rome, with a stop for the visit of Madonna di Pompei. The Pontifical Shrine of the Blessed Virgin of the Rosary of Pompei(Italian: Pontificio Santuario della Beata Vergine del Santo Rosario di Pompei) is a Roman Catholic Cathedral, Marian pontifical shrine and minor basilica commissioned by Bartolo Longo, located in Pompei, Italy. Free time for lunch. In the afternoon, you will attend an afternoon tour of the Catacombs where thousands of Christians were buried in a remarkable tiered series of galleries. Dinner and overnight in Rome.

Day 8Holy Rome

Today you will have a full day of sightseeing. You will start with the visit of Vatican City where you will see the Basilica of St. Peter, the Sistine Chapel and the Vatican Museums with stunning works of art at every turn. Free time for lunch,followed by an afternoon walking tour of Rome, where you will see the main squares and the Pantheon: Piazza Navona, Piazza del Popolo and Piazza di Spagna with the Spanish Steps. Dinner and overnight in Rome.

Day 9Arrivederci !

After breakfast, transfer out from the hotel in Rome to apt FCO for your flight back. End of our services, arrivederci !
